The Barren River Area Development District is inviting residents to help update county strategic plans at public forums Nov. 9 in Barren County and Nov. 12 in Hart County. Residents can share what they believe their communities should prioritize, according to the district.

The Barren County session is scheduled for Monday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Barren County Development Center. The Hart County session is scheduled for Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. at Horse Cave City Hall.

The district says the forums will be informal, with a come-and-go format that allows residents to stop by at their convenience. Participants may submit feedback anonymously or attach their names to their comments.

County strategic plans serve as guides for community development. They outline priorities across 11 areas, including downtown development, public health and safety, tourism, transportation and affordable housing.

The district says public participation will help ensure the updated plans reflect the needs and priorities of the communities they serve. The invitation asks residents to identify what matters to their communities as those priorities are updated.
