Walter Floyd Green
July 16, 1940 ~ November 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a devoted husband, father, grandfather, farmer, neighbor, and friend whose life was defined by hard work, family, and a love for the land.
He shared 62 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife. Together, they enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, taking scenic drives in his favorite old vehicles, and admiring the beauty of the Kentucky countryside, especially in the fall.
He was a loving father to his daughters, Sheila and Stefanie. The loss of Sheila was his greatest heartbreak, but his love for his family never wavered. He was especially proud of his two grandsons, Lane and Luke, who brought him tremendous joy. Being their “Grandpoppa” was one of his greatest blessings.
For 53 years, he proudly farmed 207 acres in Barren County. Farming was more than a job; it was his passion. He took great pride in his land, home, and equipment and believed in hard work, doing things right, and taking care of what mattered.
He also had a special love for old vehicles and enjoyed sharing back-road drives with his wife and friends. He was a dependable neighbor and loyal friend, always willing to lend a helping hand. He earned the respect of those around him through his honesty, generosity, and the way he lived his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beanie Green; daughter, Stefanie Mullins (Bobby); son-in-law, Don Franklin; grandchildren, Lane Howard, Luke Howard, and Juan Galvis; sister, Rita Faye Dykes; brother, Allen Green; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Green; mother, Daisy Gadberry Green; daughter, Shelia Ann Franklin; and his brothers, Charles Green and Buddy Green.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume Sunday morning until the time of service at the funeral home.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, cherished memories, and lifelong friendships. His family takes comfort in knowing that his life was well lived and that the values he lived by will carry on through the generations.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
