Darrell Jason Riggs, age 53 known to many as Jason, passed away on October 6, 2026, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on November 14, 1972, Jason lived a life marked by warmth, humor, and a spirit of adventure that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was the kind of person who could bring a smile to a room with ease, and his funny, friendly nature made him a cherished presence among family and friends.

Jason was an employee at the former SK Blue Oval, he took pride in his work.

Outside of work, Jason embraced life with adventure. He approached each day with a sense of curiosity and openness.

He had a gift for making others feel at ease, and his personality helped create memories that will be treasured for years to come and his humor could brighten difficult days.

He faced his final illness with courage and dignity, meeting each challenge with the same quiet strength that characterized his life. Even in the midst of hardship, Jason remained himself, and that was a comfort to those who cared about him. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who loved him, but his memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.

He was preceded by a brother Billy Riggs.

He is survived by his wife Rickeya Matthews Riggs, his children Brandon Riggs(Megan), Tiffany Durbin(Justin), Christopher Riggs, Autumn Thompson(Aaron); his bonus children Dakota Matthews(Tymber) and Kaleb Matthews; Parents Daryl and Lois Mabe Riggs; grandchildren Sakoda, Harley, Skyler, Konner, Landon, Emerie, Jace, Raelyn, Ellis and Eloise; his sister Tisa Colston(Bryan).

The funeral service for Darrell Jason Riggs will be 6pm Saturday, Oct. 10th in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Priddy officiating. Visitation will be from 11am-8pm Saturday with cremation to follow, honoring Jason’s wishes.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the funeral home to assist with the expenses.
