Glasgow News 1
A project to resurface U.S. 31-EX (business), including the entire downtown square in Glasgow, is expected to begin Sunday night.
Crews are scheduled to work overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, Aug. 30, through Friday, Sept. 4 on the downtown square portion, according to a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 press release.
Motorists should expect significant traffic impacts, including lane closures and delays. All vehicles must be removed from the downtown square by 6 p.m. Sunday before work begins. Parking on the square will be available during daytime hours throughout the project. However, all vehicles must be removed by 6 p.m. each evening while overnight work is underway.
The downtown square resurfacing is part of a larger project to resurface Race Street from the square to North L. Rogers Wells Boulevard. Last year the transportation cabinet resurfaced the portion of U.S. 31-EX that is South Green Street, which runs from South L. Rogers Wells Boulevard to the square.
