Barren County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a burglary in process Monday after 4 p.m. on Willie Groce Road.
“Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim, who reported that a male had stopped at her residence and was asked to leave the property,” according to a press release from public information officer Adam Bow. “According to the victim, the male became angry, produced a firearm, and threatened her with it. The victim stated that the last time she saw the male, he was in her backyard.
“Law enforcement searched the residence and surrounding area but were unable to locate the male.”
Willie Groce Road was blocked by a sheriff’s vehicle at the intersection with Roseville Road.
“Residents in the area should remain vigilant and avoid approaching or confronting the individual,” the press release stated. “An increased law enforcement presence is expected in the area until the male is located.”
Bow also said this is believe to be an isolated incident between the victim and the man.
