The Glasgow Independent Schools Board of Education plans to take up tax rates and several student-related items at its regular meeting Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the board room in the old South Green Elementary.
According to the published agenda, board members are scheduled to approve the 2026-27 vehicle tax rate and to propose a 2026-27 property tax rate for the district. The exact proposed property tax rate amount was not listed in the agenda and will be presented for board consideration at the meeting.
Board members will vote on an emergency certification for an English as a second language teacher.
Beyond tax and student services items, the meeting includes several routine operational actions.
The agenda lists approval of minutes from the July 13 regular meeting, payment of claims, the July 2026 monthly financial report and the superintendent’s monthly timesheet.
Board members will also be asked to approve trips and fundraisers for the upcoming school year.
Planned trips include the Glasgow High School choir traveling to New York City in late March and early April 2027.
Other trips listed are choir travel to Barefoot Republic in late August, FFA travel to the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville and a girls basketball Christmas tournament in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
The board will consider a memorandum of understanding between the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Glasgow Independent Schools.
Donations are also on the agenda, with several local gifts directed to athletics and school programs.
According to the agenda, the board is set to accept a $3,560 donation to Glasgow Middle School football and a $2,500 donation to GPA.
Other donations include $750 to Glasgow High School boys basketball, $540 to Glasgow High School, $700 to girls soccer, $750 to volleyball and $500 to FFA.
