Cave City firefighters say they were dispatched around 5:42 p.m. to a reported residential structure fire at 302 Grinstead Mill Rd after a 911 caller reported a domestic dispute. According to information provided to 911, the caller alleged that the homeowner’s former girlfriend had intentionally set the residence on fire.
When crews from the Cave City Fire Department arrived, they found a working residential structure fire and immediately began an aggressive attack on the flames. Firefighters worked to contain the fire quickly and prevent it from spreading further, bringing the incident under control.
Officials say the circumstances leading up to the fire are still being reviewed by law enforcement and fire investigators. The Cave City Fire Department notes that details about the reported domestic dispute and the allegation of arson are based solely on the initial 911 report and have not been independently verified by firefighters.
Multiple agencies responded to assist at the scene, including the Park City Fire Department, Hiseville Fire Department, Horse Cave Fire Department, the Cave City Police Department and the Kentucky State Police.
