Glasgow council plans light Monday agenda with K9 swearing-in, board appointments

The Glasgow Common Council will meet Monday, May 11, at the Luska J. Twyman Municipal Building with a light agenda.

Council members are scheduled to approve the presented agenda as the order of business and to approve minutes from the Monday, April 27, 2026, council meeting as written.

The Glasgow Police Department is expected to deliver a K9 information report and oversee the swearing in of new K9 officer Rico.

The Glasgow Fire Department is also on the agenda to introduce its assistant fire chief and battalion chief to the council.

Under new business, the council will consider Municipal Order No. 2026 appointing Anne Kathryn Murrey to fill a vacant seat on the Entertain Glasgow Committee for a three-year term.

Council members are also set to take up another Municipal Order No. 2026 involving the appointment of Erika Young to complete a vacant term on the Glasgow-Barren County Tourist and Convention Commission as a lodging representative.

The agenda further notes that the next scheduled regular council meeting on May 25 will be canceled in observance of Memorial Day.

Instead, there will be a special-called council meeting on Tuesday, May 26, at 6 p.m.
