Warren East scored three runs in the first two innings Thursday night en route to a 6-3 win over Glasgow in a 15th District baseball showdown.
The loss dropped the Scotties to 1-3 in district action and 7-11 overall. The Raiders improved other 3-1 in district and 10-12 overall.
In the top of the first inning a pair of errors aided East in scoring its two runs. Then an error in the top of the second set up the Raiders’ third run.
Glasgow got a run back in the bottom of the third inning. Garett Shields led off with a single. Hudson Gumm drew a one-out walk. He was thrown out going to second on a fielder’s choice on a ball hit by Keaton Haynes. Shields moved to third on the play. Steven Garrett drove in shields with a single.
That was as close as the Scotties got in the game. The Raiders scored three runs in the top of the fourth to take a 6-1 lead.
Keaton Haynes pitched three-and-two-thirds innings. He allowed four hits, struck out two and walked two. Garrett closed the game and allowed three hits, struck out four and walked one.
At the plate, Carter Hodges led with a pair of hits, including a double. Keaton Haynes also hit a double, while Garrett, Huston Haynes and Braylen Caldwell each had a hit.
Glasgow plays at Monroe County on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
