A Glasgow man is facing charges after a pursuit around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Glasgow police observed a car go airborne when crossing a bridge in the city. They attempted to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled, which led to a pursuit, according to a uniform citation. The chase involved several streets throughout Glasgow before the vehicle exited the city limits into Barren County and eventually into Metcalfe County. In Edmonton, law enforcement boxed in the vehicle.
Alex Williams, 23, of Glasgow, was taken into custody. He allegedly had a strong odor of alcohol and an open glass container with a small amount of suspected alcohol inside the vehicle.
He was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), driving on a DUI suspended license, first offense, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second offense, and also multiple traffic violations.
He remains in the Barren County Detention Center on Thursday with a $200,000 cash bond, according to the jail website.
