Jakylie Green’s two home runs were not enough Friday at Butler County as Glasgow fell, 12-11. The Lady Scotties slugged 17 hits, but gave up five unearned runs in the road loss.

Glasgow built a 9-2 lead in the top of the third inning, but gave up five runs in the bottom of the sixth to fall behind 12-11.

Kinley Stephens led off the third with a single. NaTaya Lightfoot drew a walk, then Reece England loaded the bases with a single. Kenleigh Bale followed with a single, but Stephens was thrown out at home. That left the bases loaded.

After a fly out, Kerrigan Hagan nailed a two-out single that scored Lightfoot. Kayla Kirkpatrick followed with a double that drove in three runs.

The Lady Scotties added two more runs in the top of the sixth to lead 11-7 before the Lady Bears’ five run bottom of the inning. Green hit one of her two homers to lead off the top of the sixth.

Green’s other home run drove in three runs in the top of the first inning. She was 3-for-3 at the plate, while Kirkpatrick, England and Hagan each also had three hits. Bale and Gracie Walker each posted two hits, while Stephens added a hit.

Ayvah Maxey pitched the distance in the circle. She allowed 12 hits, struck out one and walked two.

The 4-7 Lady Scotties play at Russell County on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
