The game was tied 1-1 after the regulation seven innings. In the top of the eighth, Steven Garrett reached base with a one-out single. Keaton Haynes moved him to second with a sacrifice bunt. Carter Hodges was intentionally walked.
That brought Thomas Glass to the plate, who singled to right field. Garrett scored on the hit, and Hodges was thrown out at home trying to added an insurance run.
In the bottom of the eighth, Keaton Haynes struck out the first two batters he faced. Then after a single, he walked a batter to put runners at first and second.
But Keaton Haynes struck out the final Tiger to end the game and secure the Scotties’ 2-1 road win.
Hodges, Glass and Garrett each posted two hits in the game, while Landon Martin had a hit.
