After a unusually eventful morning, wherein the Barren County Courthouse was evacuated, Anthony Lane Lynch pleaded not guilty to several sex-related charges involving a minor. The evacuation was not related to Lynch’s case.

His next court appearance is set for May 4 at 1 p.m., according to information provided by Barren County Circuit Judge John Alexander.

The 19-year-old was indicted earlier this month by a Barren County grand jury on charges of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor involving an illegal sex act, second-degree rape (no force), second-degree sodomy, first-degree strangulation (domestic violence related), “procure or promote use of minor by electronic means” and second-degree sexual abuse,” according to the indictment. Four of his charges are class C felonies, one is a class B felony and one is a class A misdemeanor.

The transaction, rape, sodomy and sexual abuse charges are tagged with a continuing course of conduct label, which means they happened more than once, according to Lynch’s court file.

Charges stem from a Glasgow Police Department interview where Lynch said “he had been in a relationship with the [13-year-old],” a uniform citation stated.
