Weather slows Barren County Judicial Center work, but officials say project Is still on track

The weather may have delayed construction, but all involved remain optimistic it will get back on track.

Site Development Project Manager Matt Allen told the Project Development Board that the site of the new Barren County Judicial Center, which is located off West Main Street, has been cleared and teams are checking layout hubs to make sure they remain properly aligned and intact. With these checks underway, they are looking forward to moving ahead and placing concrete, according to the meeting minutes.

Adam Gillett with Silling Architects reported no significant updates, according to the minutes.

A disbursement of approximately $1.1 million was also approved unanimously during the meeting. The disbursement pays for the construction and work performed on the judicial center.

The next Project Development Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 2:30 p.m.

The Barren County Judicial Center is expected to be completed in 2028, according to prior reporting.
