People in Barren County will now have access to a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic.
This certification that LifeSkills received is “a nationally recognized model designed to expand access to high-quality mental health and substance use services across the communities it serves,” according to a LifeSkills press release. LifeSkills serves Barren County and 17 other counties in the southcentral region.
Services are rendered to people who need them regardless of their “ability to pay or insurance status,” the release states. Services are available to children and teenagers as well.
“This certification comes in response to growing behavioral health needs across the region and reflects a shared commitment to providing timely, accessible care,” the release states. “Community members will see improved access to services, including more staff, extended hours with evening and weekend appointments, and expanded Mobile Crisis Services available around the clock, every day of the year.”
Clients will not see interruptions caused by the expansion, which are planned to continue through 2026, according to information provided by LifeSkills.
LifeSkills is located at 608 Happy Valley Road in Glasgow.
