(October 27, 2023) Cave City, KY — Cave City Police arrested a woman on drug charges and other violations on Wednesday.
Around 3:09pm, Cave City Police Officer Wesley Hicks conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Malibu on North Dixie Highway for several traffic violations. Officer Hicks requested several documents from the driver, Emily Conatser, due to the registration plate being cancelled for failure to maintain insurance.
During the traffic stop, Officer Hicks asked Major Paul Reynolds to respond to the scene with the K9. When deployed, K9 Jax gave a positive alert for narcotics on the vehicle. Officers conducted a probable cause search and found a crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
Conaster was arrested and charged with no registration plate, no registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain insurance, first degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Conaster was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
Major Paul Reynolds, K9 Jax, and Officer Chuck Webb assisted Officer Hicks with the investigation.
