GLASGOW — The American Red Cross plans to install over 200 free smoke detectors in Barren County homes on Nov. 11 and 12.
Residents may request the smoke alarm by contacting the Red Cross at sckyhomefire@redcross.org or leave a message at (270) 715-1129. Residents are asked to leave their name, address and phone number.
“Working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death from home fires in half,” according to an infographic released by the ARC.
Aside from requests, the ARC is seeking volunteers to help with the installation of the alarms in Barren County. Volunteers are needed Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12 between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Contact the ARC at the above-mentioned phone number or email to volunteer.
