BRANDENBURG — A teen driver died in a two-vehicle crash in Meade County Saturday evening.
Kentucky State Police said the incident happened near the intersection of US 60 and KY 1238. It involved a motorcycle and a truck.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 17-year-old male from New Albany, Ind., was operating a Suzuki motorcycle eastbound along US 60 when he attempted to pass a 2010 Nissan Titan. The Titan was also traveling eastbound.
Police said the motorcycle attempted to pass the truck after it had slowed down to make a left turn. As the Nissan attempted to turn left, it entered the path of the motorcycle and caused it to strike the driver’s side rear door of the truck. The juvenile was ejected from the bike. He was later pronounced dead at Baptist Health Hardin.
Brandon Bailey, 24, of Lewisport, was driving the truck. Bailey and his three passengers reported no injuries.
