Two quarters proved to be the difference in Barren County’s 62-46 win over Russellville on Tuesday.
The Trojanettes outscored the Lady Panthers, 19-11, in the first quarter. Russellville, though, rallied in the second period with a 12-6 edge. Barren led by 2 at halftime, 25-23.
Barren put together another run in the third quarter with a 20-11 run. The Trojanettes led by 11 after three, 45-34.
Shelby Byrd scored 22 of her game-high 29 points in the second half. Addy Slagle added nine for the Trojanettes.
Barren improved to 4-0 with the win, and returns to action Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. against Todd County Central at Bowling Green High School.
