Barren County and Glasgow competed in a dual swim meet Tuesday night at the Barren County Family YMCA. Barren captured the girls’ team win with a score of 326. Glasgow posted 258 points. Barren also won the boys’ meet because Glasgow did not have a full team.
The Lady Scotties won the meet’s opening event — the 200 yard medley relay — with a time of 2:42.39. The Trojanettes finished in a time of 2:55.51. Lindsey Jackson, Karena Gschwend, Gracie Reed and Molly Beckham swam for them. Glasgow’s quad of Noelle Grieshop, Ann Hughes, Anne Rhoades Pike and Madeline Neuhaus knocked more than nine seconds off their seed time in the event.
Pike also won the girls’ 50 free in 31.51 seconds, while Reed won the girls 100 free in 1:13.06 for Barren.
Grieshop, Hughes, Neuhaus and Pike teamed to win the 200 free relay in a time of 2:23.55, while Barren’s Reed, Jackson, Beckham and Gschwend finished second with a time of 2:59.50.
In the boys’ meet, Lincoln Bielak and Brayden Willis led the way for the Trojans. Bielak won the boys’ 50 free in 26.25 seconds, and he won the 100 backstroke in 1:30.51.
Willis won the boys’ 100 free in 1:09.48, and the 200 free in 2:44.82.
