Barren County’s Audrey Nuetzman is the top girls cross country runner in the Fourth Region.
The freshman distance runner finished sixth in the Class 3A, Region 2 meet in October, and was voted the region’s top cross country runner by the Fourth Region Athletic Director’s Association recently.
At the regional meet, Nuetzman ran the five kilometers in 19:51.81. She finished at 57 in the Class 3A state meet with a time of 20:32.97. During the regular season, Nuetzman won the Cave Lake Fall Classic at Cave Lake Park in Monticello, Ky. She also won the Somerset Invitational. Those were the final two regular season meets before the regional on Oct. 25.
