Billy Mac Townsend, Brownsville

Billy Mac Townsend, 80, of Brownsville passed away peacefully with family by his side at his home.

The Kinder, MO native was a son of the late Claude Wayne Townsend and Mabel Mildred Way Townsend. He was a retired assembly line worker at GM Corvette Assembly, a 40-year member of Hays Lodge #517 F & AM, a member of Local 2164 UAW, a member of Stump Bluff Militia and a Baptist. He enjoyed flintlocks and black powder shooting, watching NASCAR and deer hunting. He was also a handy man of sorts- he could fix anything and wouldn’t stop trying until he did.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Cowles; a sister, Bonnie Hisaw; and two brothers, David Townsend and Terry Townsend.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Patricia Sue Berry Townsend; two sons, Thomas Townsend (Amy) and Duane Townsend both of Brownsville; a daughter, Danilla Bailey (Meech) of Brownsville; four grandchildren, Tiffany Heath, Clay Townsend, Jake Townsend and Katie Townsend; six great grandchildren, Natalie Lashley, Brantley Lashley, Kinley Lashley, Wyatt Townsend, Piper Townsend and Samuel Townsend; and several nieces and nephews.

No public services are scheduled. Burial will take place in Townsend Green Cemetery. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
