Jo Ann Glass, 82 of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, at TJ Samson Hospital. She was born in Metcalfe County on September 27, 1943, to the late Willis and Elnora Dial Howell. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings Margarite Howell Curtis, Jay Howell and Loretta Edwards.
Jo Ann’s life was a testament to her passion for teaching, nurturing minds and hearts throughout her 27 years as a schoolteacher. Her commitment to education shaped the lives of countless students. Outside the classroom, Jo Ann was known for her love of traveling, cooking, gardening, quilting, and reading. She cherished every moment spent with her family, creating lasting memories that will forever resonate in their hearts. Her diverse interests reflected her vibrant personality and her ability to find joy in the simple pleasures of life.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Jim Glass of Glasgow; three children, James Gregory Glass (Denise Marie), Jason Eugene Glass (Sarah Armstrong), and Jennifer Anne Glass-Morehead (James Paul); five grandchildren, Madeline Rose Wilkinson, Norah Grace Glass, Lincoln Chase Glass, Ryan Scott Glass and Blane Christopher Glass; seven great grandchildren, Zoey Renee Glass, Chloe Elizabeth Glass, Kinleigh Rae Glass, Addyson Rose Glass, Devon Myles Glass, Liam Christopher Glass, and Jolene Iris Glass; one brother, Danny Howell (Brenda) and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pleasant Hill Cemetery or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
