Mary Elizabeth Pokley, age 101 of Munfordville, Kentucky passed away Friday, November 14, 2025 at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home.
She is a daughter of the late McKinley and Martha Tidwell, Dickson, Tennessee.
Mary was a member of Munfordville Baptist Church and active as the Munfordville Preschool Assistant; WMU Treasurer; VBS Leader, Team Kid Volunteer, Prayer Warrior; and participated in the Operation Christmas child by packing boxes and crocheting house slippers. Mary also was an original Rosie the Riveter, leaving home in Tennessee at the age of 18 going to Michigan to build B17 bombers.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Alex Norman Pokley; five brothers Lloyd, Oda, Ervin, Duel and JC Tidwell; and one sister Zella Lampley.
She is survived by her sister, Dixie Tidwell Brown, Munfordville, Kentucky and one brother Snow Tidwell, Dickson, Tennessee and several nephews and niece, and a special caregiver, Kathy Byler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CT on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Compton officiating. Burial will follow at the Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.
The family will welcome friends from 2:00- 7:00 PM CT on Sunday, November 16, 2025 and again from 8:00- 11:00 AM CT on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home.
