Glasgow’s football season came to a stunning close Friday night with a, 10-7, home loss to Union County in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs.

Glasgow missed an early scoring chance on a dropped pass. That killed the Scotties’ first drive and they punted.

The defense responded when Cam Bulle intercepted a Union County pass on its first drive. Glasgow’s next drive ended with a turnover on downs.

The Braves held the ball for more than eight minutes on their next drive, which ended with a made 30-yard field goal.

Less than two minutes before halftime, Glasgow’s starting quarterback, Hudson Gumm, was knocked out of the game with an injury.

The score of the game remained 3-0 until 7:59 left in the third quarter. Jaylen Bradley scored on a one-yard run to give the Scotties the lead. Levi Mann added the extra point kick and Glasgow led 7-3.

Union County controlled the ball for six minutes on the ensuing, but Glasgow forced a turnover on downs.

On the first play from scrimmage, the Scotties turned the ball over on an interception. The Braves turned that into a touchdown early in the fourth quarter. The extra point set the final score of 10-7.

The Scotties’ next drive ended with a punt. Then, after the defense made a stand, Glasgow’s next drive ended with a turnover on downs at the Braves’ 18-yard line.

Glasgow got one more chance with three-tenths of a second left in the game, but got off only one lateral before Union County made the game-ending tackle.

Gumm completed 4 of 7 passes for 17 yards before he was injured. Trace England completed 2 of 4 passes for 5 yards.

Jerrick Martin caught two passes for 15 yards.

Bradley led the Scotties on the ground with 40 yards on seven carries. Martin ran six times for 34 yards, and Bulle finished with 12 yards on five runs.

The Braves held possession of the ball for more than 32 minutes in the game, which limited the Scotties’ offensive opportunities.

Trace Smith led Glasgow with 12 tackles, and a sack, and Xander Contreras posted 10 tackles.

Glasgow finishes the 2025 season with an 11-1 record.
