Former Barren County standout Aiden Nyekan scored 13 points in No. 17 Georgetown College’s, 83-73, win over Kentucky Christian on Wednesday.
Scotty Browning had 10 of his team-high 16 points all within the first five minutes, helping the Tigers to a 20-10 advantage at the first media timeout. After some clutch shooting from 3-point range, Georgetown ballooned its advantage to as much as 17 after Chance Dillingham hit from distance to make it 38-21. Georgetown led 51-35 at halftime.
After Aden Nyekan’s jumper at the 13:38 mark of the second half, both sides went silent from the field for the next two plus minutes. KCU pulled within 15 with a jumper with just under six to play before buckets by both Isaiah Mason and Darien Lewis provided some cushion.
The Tigers hosts games Friday and Saturday. They play West Virginia Tech on Friday at 7 p.m. central, and Midway at 2 p.m. central Saturday.
