William Walter Cook, Edmonson County

William Walter Cook, 89, of Poplar Springs departed this life November 4, 2025 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. William was born on July 20, 1936 to the late Percy and Marie Ashley Cook. His wife of 64 years, Edna R Cook preceded him in death. He was a disabled dump truck driver and a member of Poplar Springs United Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by two granddaughters, Lexus Wilson and Elizabeth Jones; two sisters, Lorene Richards and Barbara Lashley; and two infant brothers.
Surviving are four children, Virginia Tipton and Teresa Cook both of Brownsville, William Jr. Cook of Poplar Springs and Eurica Alexander (Todd Lindsey) of Sweeden; seven grandchildren, Julie Hayes (Donald Raymer), Phillip Hayes, Jeffrey James, William Poteet (Nikki), Hank Cook, Cassady Wood and Cheyenne Lindsey; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Nelsie Jones; and three brothers, Sherman Cook (Lisa), Eddie Cook and Jimmy Cook (Martha); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 7, 2025 at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will take place 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday and after 9:00 AM Friday.
