Carol Jean Parrish, 82 of Edmonton, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at her residence. She was born June 6, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Carl and Willadean Mae Thompson. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Howard Lewis Parrish, and two brothers Larry Thompson and Robert Thompson.
Carol devoted much of her professional life to Walmart, where she retired after an impressive 22 years, leaving a legacy of service and commitment. She was a member of the Edmonton United Methodist Church. Carol enjoyed camping and watching her grandchildren play ball.
Carol is survived by her three children, Melody Coomer (Donnie), Debbie Hensley (Eddie), and Terry Parrish; two sisters, Valerie Hague (Dave), and Brenda Stout (Jim); her grandchildren, Kyle Coomer (Samantha), Tyler Coomer, Emma Coomer, Brad Hensley (MaryMae), Derek Hensley (Whitney), Tony Tinsley (Sierra Harper), Gyles Parrish, Matt Parrish, Taylor Parrish, and Natalie Parrish; twelve great grandchildren; sister- in-law, Nancy Thompson and brother-in-law Bob “Mack” McAfee and by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Carol Jean Parrish will be held 1:00 PM Friday, November 7,2025 at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday and after 8:00 AM Friday here at the funeral home until time of the service.
