Margie Marie White, Glasgow

Margie Marie White, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on Sunday,  October 19, 2025, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow, Kentucky. Born on June 16, 1936, in Lafayette, Tennessee, Margie lived a life that was not only significant to her family but also to the many individuals she encountered throughout her years.
Margie’s professional journey began at the Sorenson Factory, where she dedicated many years of her life before retiring. Following her retirement, she devoted her time and energy to serving the community as a volunteer at Temple Hill Elementary School. It is here that she left an indelible mark, touching the lives of hundreds of students and staff. Whether she was grading papers, making copies, or watching students, she was known affectionately by many as Aunt Margie, Granny Margie, or Ms. Margie. Her spirit was encapsulated in the phrase, “Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog,” a testament to her unwavering commitment to the school and its students. She also loved spending time with her friends from the Temple Hill Homemakers club.
Margie is survived by her loving daughter, Jonita White Shives (Michael), and son, Rickey White (Lesa); her grandchildren, Scott Shives, Amanda Shives Moore (Dylan), Brandon Birge White, and Whitney Jane-Marie Norris (Brandon); her great-grandchildren, Hunter Norris, Logan Norris, and Tatum Moore;  her sister, Mary Ann Nunn (Carroll); sister-in-law, Betty Driver and several nieces and nephews, who will keep her legacy alive in their hearts.
Throughout her life, Margie faced challenges with grace and resilience. She was predeceased by her parents, Horace Driver and Oline Blankenship, her loving husband George Edward White, as well as her brother Bobby Driver and her son Mickey White.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Margie’s life during the visitation on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and Saturday beginning at 8AM.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1:00PM with burial at Poplar Log Cemetery.
Margie Marie White will be sorely missed, remembered fondly for her unwavering spirit, her nurturing nature, and the countless lives she enriched during her lifetime.
