Rebecca “Becky” Underwood, born on July 5, 1956, in Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025, at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. Becky lived a life dedicated to love, family, and service, spending several years working in childcare until her retirement.
She is remembered fondly by her beloved husband, Mike Underwood, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage. Becky leaves behind two devoted daughters, Jennifer Shoffner (Jonathan) of Lebanon, Tennessee, and Katherine Childres-Romines (David) of Glasgow, Kentucky. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Ryan Norvil, Harley Childres, Tyler Norvil, JoLynn Childres, Tristian Childres, and Cayce Romines, who were the pride and joy of her life; her siblings, Sandy Glass (Tommy) of Glasgow, Kentucky, Ricky Glass (Dawn) of Laurens, South Carolina, Donald Glass (Melissa) of Laurens, South Carolina, and Wayne Houchens (Tracy) of Cincinnati, Ohio; her sister Jackie Green (Jeff) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, all of whom will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her father, Haskel Houchens; her mother, Wanda Read Glass; her brother, Haskel Houchens Jr.; and her son-in-law, John Childres.
Becky’s interests included a deep love for reading, enjoying westerns, and, above all, spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, who were the heart of her world.
The funeral service for Becky will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with a private burial to follow. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 beginning at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
