Janie “JJ” Maureen Hobart, 68 of Edmonton, Kentucky, died Thursday, October 2, 2025, at her home. She was born February 03, 1957, in Burlington, Wisconsin to the late Roger Hobart Sr and Maureen Sessions Hobart who survives. She was also preceded in death by her grandson Michael Anderson; ex-husband Robert Anderson; brother-in-law Gene Hoffman; her grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Janie had many passions in life particularly crocheting beautiful homemade pieces for her friends and family. She also enjoyed fishing, painting, gardening, especially in her flower beds and she loved her animals.
Besides her mother she is survived by two children, Michele Anderson of Edmonton, Steven Robert Anderson (Melissa) of Columbia; brother, Roger Hobart Jr; sister Michele “Shelly” Hoffman; special adopted sister, Linda Dyer; five grandchildren, Brittina Lossman (Nick), Brianna Hager (Jordan), Kristina Lossman (Jake), Jackson and Autumn Hinds (Tyler); two great grandchildren, Madilynn Hager and Deklyn Hager; a niece, Kayla Weber and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and adoptive family and friends.
In honor of Janie’s wishes the family has chosen cremation. There will be a memorial service held from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton.
