Agnes Lee Pruitt Perdue, Tompkinsville

Agnes Lee Pruitt Perdue, 94, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025 at Signature Health Care of Monroe County.
Agnes was born in Vernon, Kentucky on April 9, 1931, a daughter of the late Victoria (Short) and Franklin Pruitt. She was baptized at a young age in the Cumberland River and was a member of the Church of Christ and was known for her steadfast faith in her Lord and Savior throughout her life.

Shortly after her marriage to Carl Fish, they moved to Indianapolis where she was a long time employee of Western Electric AT&T. She was later married to William Perdue and together they enjoyed traveling and volunteer work for the Church. During her lifetime she enjoyed traveling, sewing and quilting, working puzzles, and spending time with her family. Her family always looked forward to her chicken & dumplings and homemade biscuits and pies, especially her chocolate meringue pie. And for those who knew her, she jokingly liked to tell you “sometimes I like you and sometimes I don’t”, but we were always sure of her love for us.

Agnes is survived by two daughters, Gale Eley, of Paducah, Kentucky and Dr. Vicky Sherman of Indianapolis, Indiana; her sister, Athalene Hollinsworth (Richard) ; grandchildren, Jennifer Eley, Claire Eley, Brayden (Brittany) Sherman, Drake (Yarden) Joy, Vaughn (Morgan) Sherman, Deidra Sherman, and Michael Sherman; great- grandchildren, Olivia Eley, Charlotte Eley, Hudson Sherman and another great-grandchild on the way.
Agnes is also survived by her sister, Athalene Hollinsworth (Richard) who lovingly provided

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Fish and William Perdue; brothers, Alva Pruitt, Lecil Pruitt and Paul Pruitt; Sisters, Bonnie Hope, Donnie Howard and Vernell Pruitt; Half Brothers, Raymond Pruitt and Robert Pruitt and Half Sisters, Ella Melton, Ree Jackson, Hazel Hunter, Lola Pruitt, and Effie Jackson.

final year of her life.

Cremation has been chosen and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Vernon Church of Christ, 270 Omer Short Road, Moss, TN 38575, Germany Church of Christ, 5217 Celina Rd., Tompkinsville, Kentucky 42167 or to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
