Johnny Madison, Rocky Hill

Sep 24, 2025 | 9:31 PM

Johnny Madison, age 82 of Rocky Hill, died Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on December 1, 1942 to the late Leon and Floye Muriel “Toge” Madison. He was married to his devoted wife and the loving mother of his children, Darlene Elizabeth Madison, until they were parted too soon by her passing. He then united himself with his wife, Linda Beckner Madison, who survives.

Johnny retired after dedicating many years to the Kentucky Department of Highways. He was a proud member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church and the Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Department, where he was eager to help the community and anyone in need. In his younger years, Johnny worked on the family farm and found great joy in showing horses. His greatest attribute was his warm smile! He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He would often spend hours sitting on his front porch, waving to all his friends, neighbors and even strangers that passed by. Many affectionately called him the “Mayor of the Crossroads”.

Besides his wife, Linda, he leaves to honor his memory— his beloved children, Tim Madison (Kay) of Bowling Green and Tiffany Pickle (Robert) of Houston, TX, and his grandchildren, Amber Madison, Jenna Pickle and Averi Pickle and a host of friends and extended family members.

Funeral services for Johnny Madison will be held at 11AM Friday, September 26, 2025 at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel with interment  in Rocky Hill Cemetery. Visitation from 1 to 7PM Thursday and after 9AM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Rd., Bowling Green, KY 42104.
