Donald Ray Knight, age 88, of Upton, died Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He was born June 25, 1937 to Joseph and Daisy Jenkins Knight. He was saved at the age of 13 in a field outside of Upton and he was an ordained minister and a faithful member of Falling Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter and farmer. He enjoyed going to church and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, J.T. Knight, Johnnie Knight and Roger Knight; sisters, Golda Miniard and Lavonna Huddleston.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Beverly Carby Knight; his children, Cheryl (Rickey) Hardy, Cindy (Jimmy) Hendren, Bonita (Darrell) Hendren, Danny (Lori) Knight, Phillip (Benita) Knight; Beth (Chris) Ross and Ryan (Joy) Knight; grandchildren, April Hendren, Heather Hendren, Robin Miller, Andy Ross, Emily Knight, Riley Knight, Holly Knight, Keara Knight and Brooklyn Knight; great grandchildren Layla, Landon, Reagan and Gideon, his brother, Burton(Edna) Knight; sisters, Patsy Mahoney, Betty (James) Sheroan, Shirley Ogden and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Friday, August 22, 2025 at Falling Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Bonnieville, with Bro. Jason Dickie and Bro. Mikie Clemons officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Upton, KY.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 21 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday, August 22 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Sego Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Upton, KY.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Falling Springs Baptist Church building fund, these donations can be left at the Sego Funeral Home.
