James A. ‘Jimmy’ Lindsey, Chalybeate

James A. “Jimmy” Lindsey, age 75 of Chalybeate, died Friday, August 15, 2025 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. The Edmonson County native was born on November 4, 1949 to the late Johnnie and Leslie Lindsey.

Jimmy served our country in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam War era. He later worked and retired as a trackman from L&N Railroad, formerly CSX, and was a member of Midway United Missionary Baptist Church. Jimmy had a real passion for Nascar races, UK basketball games, and watching old westerns, especially when he could relax with his favorite snack, Twinkies. He was always quick with a smile and loved sharing stories and visiting with friends and family.

He is survived by his daughter, Kerrie Graviss (Chris) of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Alex Hayes (Dustin) and Pete “Buzzy” Tarantino (Amber Flowers), all of Bowling Green; two great-grandchildren, Easton and McKinley Hayes; siblings, Buster Lindsey (Marcia) and Ronnie Lindsey, all of Lindseyville and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Richardson.

Graveside services for James A. “Jimmy” Lindsey will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Midway United Missionary Church Cemetery. Visitation from 3 to 7PM Monday, August 18, 2025 and 9 AM—12:30 PM, Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel.
