James Taylor Austin, Glasgow

James Taylor Austin, 32, of Campbellsville died Friday, August 8, 2025. He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky, on September 28, 1992, to George Alan Austin and Christy Lynn Bingham Austin. He was a cherished member of his family and community, known for his dedication and passion in all he pursued. A graduate of Barren County High School, Class of 2011, Taylor furthered his education at South Central Kentucky Community & Technical College, where he earned an associate degree. He excelled in his career as an HVAC Journeyman at AirTek Services, a role through which he took immense pride in his work while serving his community. An avid outdoorsman, Taylor loved camping and had a deep enthusiasm for UK basketball. Music also played an important role in his life; he taught himself how to play the guitar and shared this passion with those around him. His commitment to soccer extended beyond being a player, as he took on the role of coach in recent years, nurturing a love for the game in others.

He is survived by his wife, Morgan Jewell Austin; three sons, John “Myles” Austin, James “Maverick” Austin, and Elliott “Major” Austin; his parents, George Alan Austin and Christy Lynn Bingham Austin; his brother, Zach Austin and wife Brandy; his sister, Sydney Taylor and husband Kyle; maternal grandfather, Jimmy Bingham;  aunts, Angela Dahl, Shannon Davis and Sara Beth Stotts; mother-in-law, Stacy Florence; father-in-law, Ricky Jewell; sister-in-law, Megan Johns; brother-in-law, Bryce Jewell; cousins, Mason and Cadence Johns, Stephen and Ryan Mairs , and Bronson Phillips and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and special friends and his beloved fur baby, Sophie.

Taylor is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sheila Bingham; paternal grandfather, George Austin; and paternal grandmother, Bobbie Austin.

The funeral service for Taylor will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Coral Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM, and on Thursday morning until time for the service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to A F Crow & Son Funeral Home.
