Robert Louis Wilson, Cave City

Robert Louis Wilson, age 88 of Cave City died Friday, August 8, 2025 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Barren County native was born on November 21, 1936 to the late Elbert and Pauline Hatcher Wilson. He was married to his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Elsie Johnson Wilson, who survives.

Robert bravely served our country in the U.S. Army, completing his duty with honor and dedication. He was a member of Servant Valley United Baptist Church, where he built lasting friendships. After a 40 year career as a supervisor with Houchens Industries, he retired to relax and enjoy more time with his family. In his free time, he loved to play golf, and spent countless hours tending to his yard work, cultivating a beautiful lawn and flowers.

Besides his wife, Elsie, he leaves to honor his memory, his son, Glenn Wilson (Tracy) of Glasgow; grandchildren, Amy Payne (Josh), Anthony Wilson (Jenny), Brandon Wilson (Amber), Richard Wilson, Aaron Wilson and Michael Wilson; several great-grandchildren, and a brother, Philip Wilson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Gary Louis Wilson and brothers, James and Stanley Wilson.

Funeral services for Robert Louis Wilson will be held at 11AM Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Patton Funeral Home Cave City Chapel with interment in Cave City Cemetery with graveside military honors by DAV Chapter 20. Visitation from 2 to 6PM Sunday and Monday, 9 to 11AM at the Patton Funeral Home Cave City Chapel
