Michael Avery age 52 of Munfordville passed away Wednesday, July 30th at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was a member of the Our Lady of Caves Catholic Church in Horse Cave.
Michael was a professor and director of Corporate Outreach with the University of Iowa.
He was preceded by his father Loren Avery, Maternal grandparents Anthony & Anna Sims, Paternal grandparents Hubert & Irene Avery, uncles Carlos, Richard, Charles & Kenneth Sims and an aunt Evelyn Green.
Michael is survived by his mother Doris Sims Avery, a sister Kacie Reynolds, two nieces Harper Thompson and Logan Philpott, aunt Barbara Hatfield, two uncles Louis Sims & James Sims, numerous cousins and his child Shine.
The funeral service for Michael Avery will be 11am Wednesday, Aug. 6th in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with burial in the St. Benedict Cemetery at Wax. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8pm and after 8am Wednesday at the Sego Funeral Home. The family kindly ask for donations to be given to Sego Funeral Home to assist with the expenses.
