William David “Dick” Gordon, 60, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Sunday, July 27th, at Monroe County Medical Center.
Dick was born in Indianapolis, IN on January 17, 1965, a son of the late Shirley Ann (Poole) and Junior Gordon.
In September of 1985, Ervin Scott united Sheila York and Dick Gordon in marriage at Old Mulkey Meeting House.
Dick worked at Roy Anderson Lumber Company for nearly 40 years, he was a constable in Monroe County for over 20 years. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outdoors.
Dick is survived by his wife, Sheila Gordon; two sons Dakota Gordon, of Tompkinsville, KY and Dalton Gordon, of Tompkinsville, KY; one granddaughter, Margo Gordon.
Dick is also survived by two sisters, Teresa Wilson, and husband, Mark, of Tompkinsville, KY; Tammy Oakley, of Tompkinsville, KY; brother-in-law, Dexter Bryant, of Tompkinsville, KY; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Shirley Gordon, and two sisters, Nancy Sue Daniels and Rita Bryant.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 30th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Wilson Basil Cemetery.
Jason Thompson will officiate the service.
Visitation is Tuesday, 4-8 p.m., and Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dick’s memory may be made to assist with a monument or to Wilson Basil Cemetery.
