Maevonna Day age 90 passed away peacefully Friday morning at Vitality Assisted Living in Elizabethtown. She was the daughter of William Floyd “Bunk” and Carma Hill Wilkerson.
Maevonna was the post master at the Cub Run Post Office when it was established in an old store building and she retired 35 years later in the new post office building.
She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. Her life was her church and every moment that she spent with her great-great-grandbabies.
She was preceded by her husband Wendell Day, a son Michael Day, a brother William Wilkerson and her sisters Edith Dennis, Norma Jean Bunnell & Edna Owen.
Maevonna is survived by her daughter-in-law Debbie Day, a granddaughter Amy Wilson(Robert), two great- grandsons Trevor Dennis & Brett Dennis, three great-great grandchildren Abigail Dennis, Brody Dennis & Chanley Dennis.
Visitation for Maevonna Day will be Sunday from 10am-8pm at the Sego Funeral Home and Monday from 10am -1pm at Macedonia Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 1pm Monday at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Bro. Malcolm Doyle officiating. Burial will be in the New Macedonia Church Cemetery.
