Vivian A. Thornton

Vivian A. Thornton, age 68 of Munfordville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. She was a member of Glasgow First Baptist Church and a former member of Woodsonville Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir and the district choir, she was a past missionary president, Sunday school teacher, and district youth director. She enjoyed gardening and was really good with flowers, and she was a wonderful “Handy-Woman”.

She was the daughter of the late Jewell B. Thornton and Carole F. Ennis Thornton.

She is preceded in death by her father; Her two brothers, Rondall and Jeffery Thornton; her sister, Darlene Thornton.

She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Binford of Munfordville; her mother; her siblings, Steve Thornton, Munfordville, KY, Timothy Thornton and his wife Linda, Austin, TX, Carolyn Sue Buntyn, Munfordville, KY, Jacqueline Jewell, Louisville, KY, Malina Kirk, Glasgow, KY, Jewelletta Thornton, Louisville, KY, and Kenny Thornton, Louisville, KY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family also survive.

The family will welcome friends from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Woodsonville Baptist Church. A home-going service will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Woodsonville Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Rice and Rev. K.T. Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodsonville Memorial Gardens. Brooks Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
