Bro. Kenneth Fisher

Bro. Kenneth Fisher, 82, of Scottsville, KY passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Knollwood Manor in Lafayette, TN.  He was born in Dixon Springs, TN to the late Gus Fisher and Gladys Beulah Toney Fisher.  Kenneth was a farmer, former diesel mechanic, former truck driver for Merchants Freight and Ryder.   In 1961, he married Judy Jones, and they had two daughters.  Judy passed away in August, 1989 after a battle with cancer.  On a Wednesday night in 1953, Kenneth professed faith while walking home from a revival service in Smith County, TN.  He was called to preach in 1995 and pastored Holland Missionary Baptist Church from 1995-1998 and Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church from 1999-2006.  

He is survived by his wife:  Diane Bewley Fisher, Scottsville, KY; 

2 daughters:  Lisa Gentry and husband, Jeff, and Joy Jones and husband, David, all of Lafayette, TN; 

2 brothers:  Henry Fisher, Lafayette, TN and Jerry Fisher, Hartsville, TN; 

1 sister:  Mary Sue McKinley, Lafayette, TN;

1 sister-in-law:  Jonell Harper Fisher, Lafayette, TN;

2 grandchildren:  Judi Beth Wright and husband, Josh, and Eric Gentry, all of Lafayette, TN;

1 great grandson:  Rip Allen Wright. 

He was preceded in death by his second wife:  Doris Jean Wimpee Fisher; 2 brothers:  Gus Taylor Fisher (Polly) and William Eugene Fisher; 1 sister:  Mildred May Nell Hargis (Donald); 1 brother-in-law:  Bill McKinley; 2 sisters-in-law: Glenda Toney Fisher and June White Fisher and an infant sister:  Margaret Fisher. 

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Patterson and Danny Fisher officiating and burial in Akersville Cemetery with Bro. John Mark Williams officiating.  Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Akersville Cemetery.
