Karisan Peters, of Glasgow Middle School, recently won a national championship at the National Junior Beta Convention at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Peters won first place in the Performing Arts Solo Dancer category.
Several other students from Glasgow Independent and Barren County schools also won awards at the event.
Brady Cook, of Barren County Middle, took third place in Social Studies 8th Grade, while Glasgow’s Shaurya Chaudhary placed 10th.
Barren County’s Aubrey Blythe won fourth place in Sculpture.
Lana Martin, of North Jackson Elementary, took sixth place in Spelling 6th Grade.
Glasgow’s Aaron Wilson won seventh place in Science 6th Grade.
Barren County Middle captured 10th place in Performing Arts Large Group.
