Denzil Harrison Turner, 73, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Sunday, June 22nd, at Signature Health Care of Glasgow.
Denzil was born in Metcalfe County, KY on August 6, 1951, a son of the late Doc (Pedigo) and Benny Turner.
He married Jeaneal Rhinehart on November 2, 1972 in Glasgow, KY.
Denzil spent his life farming and enjoyed getting his hands dirty rather it be mowing, cleaning fences or anything to help make the grounds look good. He worked at the stockyard for over 20 years. Denzil enjoyed riding horses, tending to the chickens and telling grandchildren old stories.
Denzil is survived by a son, Daniel Turner, and wife, Monica, of Glasgow, KY; three grandchildren, Kayla LaShae Turner, Hannah Brooke Turner and Sydney RyAnne Turner; great grandchildren, Kieza LaShae and Sawyer Leon Allen and was expecting twins in October.
Other than his wife, Jeaneal Turner, and parents, Doc and Benny Turner, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, MaKayla Turner and a great granddaughter, Journeigh Turner.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Thomas Clack Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, 4:00 -8:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Denzil’s memory may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
