Sharon R Houchens age 55 of Merry Oaks, Kentucky, was called to heaven, Sunday June 15th, 2025 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green after a short but courageous and impactful life.
Sharon is deeply missed by; Her mother Mary Houchens McPeak of Glasgow, Two sons Brandon Buckley (Tambra) of Merry Oaks, Clay Buckley of Merry Oaks; Five of the most loved grandchildren, Mason, Kinsie, Yazmine, Tyja and Tykayla. One treasured furbaby, Nova Lee. Two brothers Tommy Houchens (Sandy) of Glasgow, Ernest “Jr” Houchens (Kasey) of Bowling Green. Three sisters Dona Davenport (Bill) of Auburn, Rita Ragle Kelb (Ed) of Dunedin, Florida and Rosie Ragle (Jerry) of Glasgow.
Sharon is now celebrating in heaven with her father Ernest Houchens of Merry Oaks, her beloved brother Jerry Ragle, of Glasgow, sister Janet Milton of Franklin, and daughter-in-love, Cheyenne Buckley (Clay) of Merry Oaks, along with several other friends and family members.
Sharon was a high school graduate of Barren County. She had a long and successful career as a deputy at the Barren County Correctional Facility, where she made a significant contribution and showed the world how a woman in law enforcement can perform admirably and have strong ethical principles, along with her fellow deputies and friends there.
Sharon has a deep love for her family and friends. She was and remains a steadfast presence in all their lives. Her hope was that her children and grandchildren continued to feel her love and devotion as they go through life.
While some may say rest in peace, Sharon is not resting, Sharon is celebrating and beaming a shine so bright that you will see her in every light.
Funeral will be 4:00 pm Friday, June 20th at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday and after 2:00 pm Friday until time for services.
