Travis Gordon Thomas

Travis Gordon Thomas, 89, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Monday, June 9th at Bowling Green Medical Center.

Travis was born on May 1, 1936 in Tompkinsville, KY, a son of the late Neva Wheat and Erie Jack Thomas. He married Nelda Bartley on August 11, 1956, who survives.

Travis deeply loved his wife and family. He worked his life as a farmer. His passion was coon hunting and playing pitch.

In addition to his wife, Nelda Thomas, he is survived by their three daughters, Trina Davis and husband, Richard, of Hustonville, KY; Terri Williams and husband, Mark; Traci Gentry and husband, Maxey of Tompkinsville, KY; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Travis is also survived by sisters, Ruth Stinson of Orlando, FL and Joyce Denham, and husband, Leon, of Louisville, KY; and a brother, Ralph Thomas of Tompkinsville, KY.

Other than his parents, Travis is preceded in death by a grandchild, Thomas Scott Gentry; brother, Jimmy Thomas; and sisters, Nadine Turner and June Collins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 12 noon at Yokley Trible Funeral Home with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation will be held on Friday, 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Travis’ memory may be made to Bethlehem Cemetery or Sid Yokley Cemetery.
