Steve Mark Layman

Steve Mark Layman, age 58, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (May 22, 2025) at the Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Regional Hospital in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on May 23, 1966 in Louisville, KY, the son of Bill Layman and the late Ruby Crume Layman.

He was a monument installer for Crume’s Monuments and was also owner and operator of Steve’s Sandblasting. Steve attended New Freedom Baptist Church.

He was a hard worker and loved to trade, and Coyote hunting, but most of all spending time with his three grandchildren that he loved so much.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Oller Layman, his daughter, Meghan (Stephen) Probus, and three grandchildren, Sadie, Connor, and Della Probus, his dad, Bill Layman, one sister, Marcha (Jerry) Highbaugh, and one brother, Tim Layman.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Layman.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Wednesday, (May 28, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Mickey Coates will be officiating. Burial will be in the Hack-Oller Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
