Charles T Walker

Charles T Walker, age 78, of Tompkinsville, departed this life surrounded by his family, on Friday May 9th, 2025, at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Charles was born to the late Eugene and Wilma Marie (Turner) Walker on May 15th, 1946, in Tompkinsville. He would have been 79 in six days. On March 3rd, 2017, he was united in marriage to Connie Britt Walker who precedes him in death. Charles held many jobs in his lifetime; logger, carpenter, computer tech and could fix almost anything. He retired from SKF in Glasgow after working for thirty-four years. All his life he loved fishing, hunting deer and turkey, and loved gardening and canning all the produce. Later in life he came to know the Lord and was called to preach, he then became an ordained minister. One of his greatest passions in life was singing gospel music and playing one of his many stringed instruments. He could play all types of guitars, the banjo and the mandolin.

Charles is survived by his three children, Becky Hamlett and husband Randall of Glasgow, Ricky Walker, and Denise Harper both of Tompkinsville. Five grandchildren, Matthew McCoy (Ashley) Denisha Harper (Matt Keith), Lee Harper (Jordan), Taylor Syra (Heather) and Davin Wade. Eight great-grandchildren, Kinsleigh McCoy, Kensey, Kaylee and Kenley Lohden, Landon Ballard, Jensen Harper and Emmi Harper, two brothers; Robert and Bobby Walker, along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Addison Grace McCoy. Five sisters, Norma Dean Owens, Dorothy Gilreath, Gayle Long, Sue Hollaran, Vanessa Dixon, and two brothers Rondal and Danny Walker.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Carter and staff at Monroe County Medical center for their compassion and the kindness shown during this difficult time.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., noon, on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Brown Cemetery. Bro. Gary Emberton will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home, and again on Thursday after 8:00 a.m. until the service time at Noon.

Honorary Pallbearers: Landon Ballard and Jensen Harper
