The Barren County Fiscal Court magistrates are scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. on May 6 and have a second reading of the solar farm ordinance, approve the appointment of an emergency management volunteer deputy director and approve an invoice from Team First Sports.

On April 29, the seven magistrate conducted the first reading of the proposed ordinance that passed with a 4 to 3 vote. The Barren County ordinance requires, among other things, a setback “of no less” than 1,000 feet from “nonparticipating properties and rights-of-way,” though Magistrate Tim Coomer proposed an amendment to shorten that setback requirement if landowners agreed.

As Barren County Judge-Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd said previously this ordinance would not affect the Wood Duck Solar project.

The appointment of Amanda Proffitt as Glasgow-Barren County Emergency Management Volunteer Deputy Director is also on the agenda.

The invoice from Team First Sports amounts to $14,696 and was for 595 baseball jerseys and hats, 30 softball coach jerseys and 158 softball jerseys and socks, according to the invoice.

The new business on the fiscal court’s agenda is:

A. Approve Payment of Claims, as presented
B. Approve Transfer of Funds
C. Approve Personnel Actions, as presented
D. Approve Second Reading of Ordinance 695 relating to Solar Energy Systems
E. Approve Discontinuance of Soccer Way and Accept Report from Viewers
F. Approve Appointment of Local Emergency Management Volunteer Deputy Director
G. Approve Invoice from BRADD for $11,250.00
H. Approve Invoice from Team First Sports for $14,696.00

The next Barren County Fiscal Court meeting is scheduled for May 20.
