A Glasgow pay lake has been implicated in illegal catfish harvesting following an investigation by Kentucky Fish and Wildlife’s Law Enforcement division.  According to a statement made by Fish and Wildlife Tuesday, nine people with nearly 200 related to an illegal catfish operation, after finding thousands of pounds of catfish were harvested from Barren River Lake.

The illegally harvested fish were then sold to a Green Valley Pay Lake in Glasgow, according to the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife investigation;

The owner of the pay lake allegedly made the purchase knowingly.

In addition to illegally harvested fish from Barren River Lake, at least two of the nine people arrested were also bringing illegally harvested fish of trophy-size all the way from Alabama.

The Kentucky Fish and Wildlife game wardens, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Alabama Game and Fish Division and the Barren County Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.
